After this afternoon's sunshine, chance of rain develops tonight
THIS AFTERNOON:
We will have abundant sunshine with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Highs will reach the mid 70s. Winds will be light and mainly out of the south.
TONIGHT:
Clouds will increase and rain showers will approach the area from the west. The rain will start impacting areas near US-23 around midnight and slowly move over Metro Detroit by 2 a.m. Lows will be in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will remain light out of the south at 4 to 8 mph.
TOMORROW (FRIDAY):
It will be mostly cloudy with showers and a few thunderstorms. A few showers will linger into the morning drive, especially over the Thumb. Late morning and early afternoon will be mostly dry, but pop-up showers and thunderstorms will develop during the late afternoon and evening. Highs will be in the lower to mid 70s. Southwesterly winds will be 5 to 10 mph.
TOMORROW NIGHT:
Showers and thunderstorms will move out during the evening. Then, it will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. Lows will be in the upper 50s to 60 degrees.
THIS WEEKEND:
Lots of sunshine will require precautions while in the sunlight. The UV index will be in the very high range during the afternoon. Some individuals may develop sunburn in as little as 15 to 25 minutes without protection. Applying sunscreen and wearing light-colored and lightweight long-sleeve shirts are ways to protect yourself.
SATURDAY:
It will be partly cloudy and mostly dry, but a stray shower is possible. Highs will be in the upper 70s. Lows will be in the upper 50s.
SUNDAY:
It will be warm and mostly sunny. At times, partly cloudy conditions will develop. Highs will be around 80 degrees. Lows will be in the upper 50s to 60 degrees.
Following a warm and dry Monday, showers will return on Tuesday and stay for early Wednesday.
