Tracking rain on Easter weekend: What to expect in Metro Detroit

Showers possible Saturday, Sunday

4Warn Weather – Our Thursday begins chilly with temperatures at or below freezing. Skies are mainly clear to start the day.

Drier weather continues today as we rise to more seasonal temperatures. Highs will be around 50 degrees under sunny skies.

Winds will pick up a bit this afternoon, with gusts upward of 20 mph, so we’ll stay a little breezy.

Tonight’s sunset is at 7:55 p.m.

Sunny Friday

Temperatures will return to around, or slightly above, average on Friday into early next week.

Highs will be in the low to mid-50s on Friday. We also hold onto sunshine for Good Friday.

Rain chances this weekend

We’ve got chances for rain this weekend.

The first chance is Saturday morning. Showers will arrive in the morning and last into midday. A line of showers will start more south and then move north throughout the morning.

We’ll dry out on Sunday for Easter, though rain chances are possible after sunset. Showers will stretch across southern Lower Michigan around 11 p.m., and will continue into Monday.

Temps will start in the 30s ion Sunday, with highs in the 50s in the afternoon.

It looks to be a soggy start to next week. We could get a wave of rain Monday morning, with another round late Monday and lingering into Tuesday.

Elsewhere ...

Nationally, rainy, stormy weather continues along the East Coast through Thursday, lingering in New England Friday. Unsettled weather for the West, with a late season Atmospheric River impacting California Friday. A warming trend begins over the Central U.S. on Thursday.
